Step Forward Tees Valley – Employment Search Service Step Forward Tees Valley provides those with complex reasons preventing them from finding work, to find employment that suits them. These barriers could include physical or mental ill-health, a lack of self-confidence, a gap in skills (e.g. digital inclusion), a conviction, or an addiction. The programme is aimed at adults aged 29 years and over. The Step-Forward team are located on the fourth floor hot-desking area. They work in the centre Monday to Friday from 9am-5pm. Groundwork NE and Cumbria – Youth Employment Initiative Groundwork NE is a charity that works both locally and nationally with disadvantaged communities to provide them with training opportunities and creating jobs for people aged 15 – 29 years old. Once enrolled on the initiative, individuals are allocated a youth coach who provides one to one employability support and training on the journey to employment. The Groundwork team are located on the fourth floor, usually working from the hot desking area. They work in the centre Monday – Thursday (8.30am-4.30pm) and Friday (8.30am-4pm). Job Centre Plus – Employment Support Drop in Job Centre Plus offer a ‘Work Club’ each week here at The Live Well Centre. Numerous variations of support are provided to those in need of employability support including; help with CV Writing, support with job searches and help with application forms. Street League – Sport and Employability Course

Street League are an employability charity engaging 16 to 24 year olds through the power of football and exercise. Street league offer a free 10-week sport and employability course and also provide support with work skills, life skills and getting ready for work i.e. CV writing, Interview skills, 1-1 support with career advice and mentoring

Street League’s employability course runs every Tuesday 3pm-5pm on the 2ndFloor, in the Energise Well Gym.

Terrance Higgins Trust – Virgin Care Drop in They offer a weekly HIV and sexual health clinic at The Live Well Centre. The trust delivers a range of sexual health services (same day results) in association with Virgin Care Sexual Health Teesside i.e. rapid HIV testing, hepatitis C testing, syphilis testing, free condoms and sexual health information and advice. Brook Young Person’s Wellbeing Clinic Brook Sexual Health offer a young person’s clinic which is ran by local school nurses but supported by Virgin Care. The clinic is open to under 25’s and operates as a drop in service every Tuesday afternoon. Virgin Care Sexual Health Service – Appointment Only Virgin Care provide a weekly, free and confidential sexual health service at The Live Well Centre. The service is for people of all ages, genders and orientations – you don’t need to see a GP first. Services offered include; contraception-all types, STI screening and treatment, emergency contraception, counselling advice and many more. The clinic runs every Saturday from 10am-12.30pm on third floor, clinic 5. Starfish EWIT – Emotional Wellbeing in Teesside Starfish is an organisation that offers free and confidential psychological therapy and counselling to improve one’s emotional wellbeing. The following interventions are often delivered; behavioral activation, self-help material, development of interpersonal skills, thinking skills enhancement etc. The Starfish Team are located on third floor from Monday to Friday 9am-5pm. In order to access Starfish self and GP referrals can be made by calling the Teesside team on 01642 672 987 – all appointments are made within 10 days of the referral. Mindfulness – Inward Bound Marie Cunningham offers weekly mindfulness classes to advance the education, health/well-being & self-esteem of those who attend her workshops. All sessions are lottery funded and are open to anyone within the community regardless of age, gender or nationality. Marie’s workshop aims to help with dealing with depression, emotional healing and changing negative thinking. Mindfulness runs every Friday from 12.30pm-2.30pm on 3rd Floor within Training Room 2. NUR Fitness, Ladies Group – New Life, New You NUR Fitness offer a ladies gym group in hopes to engage women from the Middlesbrough BME Community. Trained instructors and mentors from NUR Fitness are present during the class for any health/nutritional advice and support that ladies may need. NUR Fitness hold an exercise class in the 2nd Floor Gym every Tuesday from 1pm-2.30pm. BME Men’s Type 2 Diabetes Exercise Group
John Yarrow – New Life New You
The Health Development team offer a weekly BME – Type 2 fitness group in hopes to tackle BME men who may be at risk of developing type two diabetes. The group is aimed men aged 25 and over, during the course attendees are given the opportunity to become more physically active as well as receiving nutritional advice in order to better their lifestyle choices. The class runs every Monday and Wednesday from 1pm-2.30pm, in the 2nd Floor Gym.

Health Development Exercise Class – Tai Chi The Middlesbrough Council Health Development team offer a wide range of exercise classes to staff and the local community. All classes are delivered by a trained instructor at a cost of £2.
Tai Chi: Tai Chi is a low impact, weight bearing exercise involving definite movements and slow, deep breathing.

Pilates is a form of exercise that focusses on balance, posture, strength and flexibility.

Health Development Exercise Class - Mum and Baby Yoga The Middlesbrough Council Health Development team offer a wide range of exercise classes to staff and the local community. All classes are delivered by a trained instructor at a cost of £2. Mum and Baby Yoga is designed for new mums to slowly ease their way back into exercise after the birth of their baby in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Health Development Exercise on Referral Exercise on referral is a 12 week gym programme for those with a wide range of pre-existing health conditions. The session is designed for those that want to improve their physical and emotional health and wellbeing, by implementing exercise into their weekly routine. Clients are supervised at all times during the session and are provided with a personalised gym programme and one to one support upon referral. (This session is accessed via GP Referral) The Health Development class runs every Tuesday 11am-12.30pm and Thursday 10am-11.30am, in the 2nd Floor Gym. NHS - Prep Well Programme The prep-well course is a community based programme designed for patients awaiting surgery to undertake pre-operative fitness training. Patients receive lifestyle and nutritional one to one support in a supervised environment, the programme runs for 6 weeks prior to surgery and is led by a trained physio-therapist. The course can only be accessed by patients awaiting surgery that have been referred by the patient’s doctor/surgeon. The Prep-Well programme runs in blocks of 2 classes per day. It runs every Tuesday from 1pm-2pm and then from 2.30pm-3.30pm. Every Thursday from 1pm-2pm and then from 2.30pm-3.30pm. For more information contact Esther Carr – Prep Well Project Manager

Middlesbrough Stop Smoking Service The Middlesbrough Stop Smoking service offer a range of free, friendly and confidential support across the town, to help you quit smoking. Our team of specialist advisors have lots of experience in helping people to quit smoking. All other stop smoking and prescribing clinics in Middlesbrough are listed below in this link, The stop smoking team are situated within the Live Well Centre from Monday to Friday (9am-5pm) and have an administrator who deals with numerous calls daily. Recovery Connections – Abstinence Service Recovery Connections offers support services for the people of Middlesbrough, who wish to achieve an abstinence-based recovery from drug and alcohol addiction. The charity’s vision is to inspire, motivate, empower and support all those affected by substance use to sustain visible, long term recovery and lasting positive change. The following groups are held at The Live Well Centre:

Cloud Nine – LGBT Support Group The cloud nine support group is ran through Hart Gables, a specialised charity that aims to provide support to all those who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual and/or transgender. The support group is aimed at those who are 18 and over and living in the North East. The group runs each week from Training Room 1, Floor 3 at The Live Well Centre. Branches Support Group Branches are a peer-led group that offer support to those who are affected by others’ use of alcohol and drugs including parents, partners, siblings, friends and grandparents. The group is very informal, other peers within the group understand what you are going through and will listen and support you without judgement. The Branches support group runs from third floor, (group therapy room 2) every Monday and Thursday from 10am-12pm. Middlesbrough Baby Café The Baby Café is a free weekly ‘drop in’ for breastfeeding mums and their families. The aim of the group is to offer help and support to breastfeeding mothers at any stage in their breastfeeding journey, regardless of the age of the baby or child and no matter how much breastmilk you are giving. When you attend the baby café you can access one to one support from a specially trained member of staff, meet other mums and access a range of information regarding breastfeeding free books and leaflets. Substance Misuse – The Service What do they do? When do they work in the centre? Contact Details
CGL – Change, Grow, Live – A specialist team that provide help and support to adults, children, young people and families. Their services cover a wide variety of areas including health and wellbeing, substance use, mental health, criminal justice, domestic abuse and homelessness. In order to access the service self-referral/GP referral/external service referral are all accepted. If you would like to refer yourself or someone else to the service you can call, email or visit the service in person on 01642 876 323 / CGL work in the Live Well Centre from Monday-Saturday. They are situated on the first floor.
Their working hours are as follows:
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 9am-5pm
Thursdays 12.30pm-5pm and Saturdays 9am-1pm.

Middlesbrough Needle Exchange The needle exchange at The Live Well Centre is a community-based clinic that provides injection drug users with clean needles, safe disposal of used needles, wound care and other resources such as condoms and health advice. We have a variety of trained staff working from the exchange such as a qualified nurse and harm minimisation workers who are all trained in issuing naloxone care kits. The exchange operates as a drop in service and is available from Monday-Saturday. The Needle Exchange operates from Monday to Saturday.
Their working hours are as follows:
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 9am-5pm, Thursdays 12.30pm-5pm and Saturdays 9am-1pm
