Marhabaan Cafe Project

(Published on 17/10/2017)

There is an exciting partnership between MAP Middlesbrough and Open Door NE, which sees us open our Cafe doors for a community meal every Thursday evening between now and early December 2017. The Project is funded by York City of Sanctuary.

Our aim is to bring together anyone living, working or visiting in Middlesbrough, to eat together on an equal footing. We hope to spark conversations between people who might otherwise never meet, and create links of friendship and understanding across communities.

The meal takes place every Thursday from 4pm to 6pm at MAP's cafe premises at 54 Borough Road, Middlesbrough, TS1 2JH. The meal will be a simple dish often based around rice, but with a meat option and a vegetarian option. It is offered free to our asylum-seeker clients, and for everyone else we would invite a modest donation at the discretion of the visitor.

You are very welcome to come down and take part, we would love to see you! And, please feel free to circulate this email to anyone you think may be interested.
